Hunster Yang, Director of Internal Affairs

Hunster is an active student leader, advocate, and researcher. With a passion for community engagement, equity, education, and health research, he is honored to serve as IYHD’s Director of Internal Affairs. Through various academic and community involvements, he has developed a passion for working towards health equity. In addition to IYHD, he is a part of the Health Equity Action Research Team at Western University, which focuses on achieving equity in health and health care for Indigenous, immigrant, and refugee populations through community-based participatory research, cultural safety frameworks, and interdisciplinary partnerships. 

Hunster loves to meet new people, so if you have any questions or inquiries, feel free to connect with him! On his spare time, he enjoys travelling, learning about different cultures, going on adventures, canoeing, and camping

Hunster recently completed his undergraduate education at Western University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science with an Honors Specialization in Neuroscience. He is excited to attend the 1-year Master of Science in Global Health program at McMaster University in the fall, where he can learn more about health policies and solutions to tackle health challenges.
